B) «Phylogenetic Trees» Diplacus

"Phylogenetic trees of the Diplacus genus from 2022 & 2024 (Phrymaceae) provide a relative representation of evolutionary relationships. Notably, the longiflorus species from Santa Cruz Island can transition between node F and node E. This means that while the tree illustrates the genetic distances between different demes, it does not convey the exact evolutionary path taken. Essentially, it serves as a distance tree.

A six-dimensional plot illustrates the floral traits along the transect. This series of slides shows a gradual shift in traits across sites. Observing this route provides insights similar to those gained through long-term observation of a single site.

Deme color characteristics along transect B1_B6 and C1_C6 indicate that in this decade, red demes have increased while intermediate demes have decreased. This trend clearly suggests an older transition zone nearing the end of its existence.
