Populationen mit weissen "Alba"- Varianten findet man innerhalb der hellblau eingekreisten Flächen auf 1100-1300 Meter über Meer. (Langzeitbeobachtung). Der Föhn scheint entscheidender Faktor zu sein bei der Veränderungs-Dynamik dieser Populationen. (Weitere Informationen werden folgen; 11-09-21, Switzerland near Ziegelbrücke).

Hypothese: Die weissen Varianten entstehen überall dort in steilen feuchten Alpwiesen, in Halbschattigen milden Lagen zwischen 1050-1350 Meter über Meer, wo offenbar ein bestimmter Schwellwert in jüngster Zeit erreicht wurde. Entscheidend ist offenbar die mittlere Jahrestemperatur. Wie dynamisch solche Systeme sind, kann zurzeit noch nicht beurteilt werden. (long term plant monitoring). Es scheint aber, dass die mehrjährigen Pflanzen ihre Blütenfärbung und Gestalt autonom und nachhaltig wechseln können! Über hundert Pflanzen wurden bereits markiert.

Es ist offensichtlich dass hier weiss- und blau-blühende Formen nebeneinander vorkommen. Die Frage ist, wie lange bleibt das so bestehen? - Hummel, die in Blüten "einbricht".

Offenbar entsteht ein Farbgradient. Die Ansammlung der Anthozyan-pigmente geschieht an der nach aussen gerichteten Epidermis, während die innere Epidermis zunehmend pigmentlos wird.
